May we introduce? This is the Mini Skirt …er Mimi Skirt! The short skirt sewing pattern can be sewn from a variety of fabrics – whether cotton poplin or fleece – and not only promises comfort with its comfortable elastic waistband and side pockets, but also adds a touch of coolness to your outfit. The mini skirt pattern is wonderfully easy and quick to sew, making it a perfect sewing project for sewing beginners or for after work. With the help of the written, illustrated sewing instructions and the mini skirt sewing tutorial, you will learn how to sew a simple skirt with an elastic waistband.
You want the perfect fit?
There is nothing more frustrating than when a homemade garment ends up fitting poorly. That’s over now! Because when you take the time to sew a garment yourself, you deserve it to be perfect. That’s why our patterns are now also available in the variant “Customized to your measurements”. How does it work? Choose the option “Customized to your measurements”, measure yourself according to our instructions and enter your current measurements in our form. Our designers then construct your individual pattern. You will receive it within 1 to maximum 2 weeks after filling out the form as paper pattern or digital pattern by email and can start sewing without fear that your garment will not fit in the end as expected.

Required materials
- medium to heavy fabric without elastane, e.g. coat fleece with a fabric width of at least 140cm (1.5yd): XS-XXXL: 1,15m (1.25yd)
- 3cm (1in) wide elastic band the length of your own waist minus 4cm (1.5in)
- a safety pin
- matching sewing thread
- Sewing machine with sewing machine needle suitable for fabric thickness
Tip: We use a soft coat fleece made from 70% polyester and 30% virgin wool with a weight of 470g/sqm for the mini skirt pattern The Mimi Skirt.

Which size is the right one? As always, take a look at our size chart. Even if your measurements are slightly different, it’s not a problem! The elastic waistband allows for a cool and casual fit on all of us!
