You are stichting a lightweight coat completely without a sewing machine – only with a simple embroidery technique. The embroidery details are guaranteed to give your jacket a special character. A DIY project for beginners – or those who want to create a unique statement piece.
With the between-seasons jacket sewing pattern, you can easily make your own jacket in sizes XS-XXXL in one of two possible length variations.
Tip: To be particularly sustainable, use The Nelly Coat as a “blanket coat pattern”. In this way, old blankets that don’t fray can be wonderfully recycled!
You want the perfect fit?
There is nothing more frustrating than when a homemade garment ends up fitting poorly. That’s over now! Because when you take the time to sew a garment yourself, you deserve it to be perfect. That’s why our sewing patterns are now also available “Customized to your measurements”. How does it work? Order the sewing pattern “Customized to your measurements”, measure yourself according to our instructions and enter your current measurements in our form. Our designers then construct your individual pattern. You will receive it within 1 to maximum 2 weeks after filling out the form as paper pattern or digital pattern by email and can start sewing without fear that your garment will not fit in the end as expected.

Required materials
- medium-heavy to heavy fabric without elastane, e.g. wool loden with a fabric width of at least 147cm (1.6yd):
XS-XXXL, kurze Version: 165cm (1.8yd)
XS-XXXL, lange Version: 225cm (2.5yd) - 5 snap button for the short version, 7 snap button for the long version
- Embroidery thread: 80m (88yd) for the short version, 88m (96yd) for the long version
- Embroidery needle
Tip: We use for the Nelly Coat a 100% virgin wool whalecloth with a weight of 385g/sqm.

Which size is the right one? As always, take a look at our size chart. Even if your measurements are slightly different, it’s not a problem! The casual silhouette allows for a cool and casual fit on all of us!
