Design
Originally, it was the idea of the hippies in the 1960s to turn their old denim pants into long recycled denim skirts. In the mainstream fashion, the denim skirt entered 10 years later and has not lost its relevance since then. Meanwhile, denim skirts come in all variations, with the Frida Skirt drawing from the classic elements of a pair of jeans. The denim skirt pattern has a traditional denim pants zipper fly zipper with metal button, visible seams, side pockets, patch rectangular pockets on the bottom and the absolute highlight: the high slit in the side seam, which can also be closed lower at your discretion. Tip: You’re into upcycling instead of new fabrics? You can sew yourself the denim skirt from an old pair of jeans by cutting up old denim pants and using a patchwork technique to assemble them into a “new” fabric. You will then use this for The Frida Skirt pattern. This is how you create a unique and sustainable garment! The pattern for The Frida Skirt includes sizes XS-XXXL.
You want the perfect fit?
There is nothing more frustrating than when a homemade garment ends up fitting poorly. That’s over now! Because when you take the time to sew a garment yourself, you deserve it to be perfect. That’s why our patterns are now also available in the variant “Customized to your measurements”. How does it work? Choose the option “Customized to your measurements”, measure yourself according to our instructions and enter your current measurements in our form. Our designers then construct your individual pattern. You will receive it within 1 to maximum 2 weeks after filling out the form as paper pattern or digital pattern by email and can start sewing without fear that your garment will not fit in the end as expected.

Video tutorial
Use the sewing tutorial to the pattern and sew along step by step with Juliana. The tutorial for the Frida Skirt is the same as from the Dina Jeans. There is just no inner leg seam. Follow the written instructions in your ebook. If you’ve never sewn before, watch the sewing machine basics video tutorial first. There you will learn about the components of a sewing machine and how to sew your first seam.
