“Anyone who wears sweatpants has lost control of their life.” – Karl Lagerfeld
At the latest since the pandemic and the arrival of home office in our everyday lives, it is clear that a cool pair of sweatpants should not be missing in any closet. Important: gray, made of a cotton sweatshirt fabric and best baggy. Then the sporty casual sweatpants classic is combined with sneakers, T-shirt and blazer. The jogging pants pattern is characterized by the loose, slightly baggy fit, the cuff at the ankle, side pockets and the elastic waistband and thus combines all the classic elements of sweatpants. The pattern sweatpants ladies is very simple, so that even sewing beginners can sew themselves a pair of sweatpants. The sewing pattern for The Basic Sweatpants includes sizes XS-XXXL.

By the way, the history of sweatpants, or joggers, began almost 100 years ago, when Émile Camuset launched a first simple, knitted jersey pants. Then in the 1970s, the production of sweatpants really took off due to the big trend of freedom. But it wasn’t until the American rap and hip hop scene that the athletic pants became a really socially acceptable piece of everyday clothing. So, go ahead and sew sweatpants!

If you want to make the jogging look complete, sew a sweatshirt from the same fabric to match the sweatpants pattern. The sweatshirt sewing pattern The Sally Sweater is perfect for this with its loose cut and wide sleeves.
