Berlin, October 23, 2024On the evening of October 18, the Berlin branch of the renowned fabric store Selfmade | STOFF & STIL hosted an inspiring highlight for the city’s DIY and sewing community. Creative minds from across Berlin accepted the invitation from the rising sewing pattern label JULIANA MARTEJEVS to attend the official presentation of the new sewing book “Sewing for Me – Outfit of the Day.” The event offered guests an exclusive look into the modern sewing projects featured in the book.

Founder and author Juliana Nieschke-Martejevs proudly introduced her collection of 12 trend-focused, modern sewing patterns. In an interview, she highlighted the importance of encouraging customers to wear and appreciate their handmade clothing with pride. The book’s instructions combine contemporary design ideas with practical tips, catering to both beginners and experienced sewing enthusiasts.

A major highlight of the evening was a grand raffle, where attendees had the chance to win one of two Brother sewing machines, in addition to other smaller prizes. A creative DIY station invited visitors to sew their own trendy rose choker – materials and patterns generously provided by Rico Design – which was enthusiastically received.

The evening was rounded off with a book signing session, where Juliana wrote personal dedications into guest’s the sewing books. The atmosphere was charged with creative enthusiasm and a shared passion for fashion and craftsmanship.

The event was a complete success, underscoring the growing interest in DIY fashion and sustainable craft. After her training as a ladies’ tailor, where she discovered her passion for sewing, she completed a bachelor’s degree in fashion design at the University of Hanover and Politecnico di Milano and earned her master’s degree in 2021 at Kingston School of Art in London. Juliana has worked with luxury and high-street brands as well as museums and magazines worldwide. Her goal is to revolutionize DIY fashion with a fresh, modern, and sustainable touch, inspiring others to be creative and truly appreciate fashion. Juliana has showcased her collections on international runways in Paris, Milan, and Frankfurt.
