Unfortunately, many pesticides are used in conventional cotton cultivation, and the raw material also requires an insane amount of water.\u00a0 We strive to use materials for our products that have the highest possible recycled content, were grown organically and\/ or are certified.\u00a0 For organic cotton, no pesticides, chemical fertilizers or genetically modified seeds were used &#8211; this minimizes their impact on the environment.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-1\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-1\">SILK<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-1\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-1\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Silk is considered the most luxurious fiber in the world and is obtained from the cocoons of silk-spinning caterpillars. Silk is completely biodegradable and causes relatively little environmental impact. The negative aspect of conventional silk production is that the caterpillars are killed before the moths hatch. A possible alternative to traditional silk is so-called Peace Silk, where the silkworms turn into moths and can hatch naturally. Unfortunately, we have not yet found a Peace Silk that is high enough quality to use for our garments and accessories.<\/p>\n<p>We source our silk satin from Beckford Silk in England, where the material is dyed by the family business. The silk itself comes from China, where its production has a long tradition, and is GOTS certified. This means that the fabric contains at least 70% organic natural fibers. It is not treated with bleach, formaldehyde or other toxic substances, dyed with non-toxic dyes and produced according to strict social and environmental standards.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-2\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-2\">MIXED MATERIALS<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-2\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-2\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Not all of our garments and accessories are made of natural fibers. This is because blended materials, such as a mix of cotton and polyester, have a high tensile strength and durability.
