Sustainability workshop with the USE-less center

The topic of sustainability and responsible use of resources is very close to our hearts. Our concept for the DIY fashion label JULIANA MARTEJEVS has already been developed in collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hanover and the USE-less Center for Sustainable Design Strategies, because we discovered why DIY fashion is currently not as sustainable as it could be and we want to address exactly these points.

To this end, we received professional support a few weeks ago from our mentor, the director of studies for fashion design Prof. Martina Glomb at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts, and her colleagues from the USE-less Center for Sustainable Design Strategies Hanover. In a joint workshop on the topic of sustainability and the product life cycle, we collected concrete ideas and measures with which we want to make JULIANA MARTEJEVS as responsible as possible. These include, for example, points such as appreciating fashion and forming an emotional bond with one’s own created garments and accessories, thereby extending their longevity and wearing time, reducing material waste through precise cuts and calculations, consciously employing sustainable design strategies, and using recycled and certified materials.

Over the next few weeks, we will be putting our thoughts into words and are excited to share our findings and values with you on our website soon! Until then stay healthy and stay tuned!

You can also find some more ideas in our elaborated yellow product life cycle, which we can look at in detail below. Do you have any requests and feedback?
